Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort

Beautifully located in lush countryside on the edge of one of Ireland’s prettiest villages, this fine 18th century manor is set amid 840 acres of formal gardens and parkland on the banks of the meandering River Maigue.

It is the former seat of the Earls of Dunraven, and the 132 foot long Minstrel’s Gallery  - inspired by the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles - can cater for weddings of up to 160 people. In the village, just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, there are several churches (13th century), and wedding blessings are possible in The Gallery or, weather permitting, outdoors - but chairs for outdoor seating are not provided, and it is the couple’s responsibility to arrange the celebrant.

A piper or, unusually (and very typical of the area), a horse & hound welcome can be arranged and, although marquees are not permitted, the cocktail reception can be held in the Formal Gardens in fine weather. The Gallery is very ornate and silver candelabra and candles are provided, so very little floral decoration is needed.

The cost and restrictions of holding a fairytale wedding at Adare Manor vary dramatically with the seasons: in summer (May to September) weddings must reserve a minimum of 50 hotel rooms for 2 nights; off season (October to April) the minimum requirement over a weekend is 30 rooms for 2 nights but, if you book a midweek wedding off season, The Gallery room hire may be waived and the room requirement is reduced to 25 rooms for one night.

An in-house wedding coordinator, who thinks of everything, will even be present on the day to ensure that all goes smoothly. This is not a place for packages and set menus are not offered, so each couple composes their own personal menu from individually priced dishes; all menus have hot or cold options and choices are not recommended.

Accommodation at the Manor is predictably luxurious, and Carriage House bedrooms and self-catering townhouses are also available on-site.
