This comfortable hotel in a romantic woodland setting has a large 1840s house at its heart and, despite its proximity to Galway city and periodic extensions and renovations, it has not been over-decorated and retains a pleasant country atmosphere which is especially appealing for weddings.

A dedicated team is on hand to advise on every aspect of a wedding from entertainment to menus and, as well as having a good choice of churches in the area, it is possible to arrange for a blessing at the hotel. The attractive gardens and woodland offer great photo opportunities and, in fine weather, drinks can be taken outdoors - otherwise guests can mingle indoors, in spacious public areas where there are welcoming open fires.

The reception is held in a classically decorated ballroom with natural light, fresh flowers and nightlights on tables; ingredients are locally sourced and menus (written in English and Irish) might typically include breast of chicken stuffed with colcannon and wrapped in bacon, and Chateaubriand roast fillet of beef with wild mushroom sauce (carved in the room).
