Set in twenty acres of parkland and gardens on the Hook Peninsula, just across the estuary from Waterford city, Catherine and Kevin Dundon’s elegant Georgian manor makes a magnificent venue for a wedding, with well-proportioned public rooms including an impressive entrance hall, gracious drawing room and a fine bar, all beautifully furnished and decorated with stunning flower arrangements.

Wedding blessings are not possible here but there is a church, Star of the Sea, very close by in Duncannon - and any special transport required, and a piper or other special welcome, can be arranged with prior notice. The reception is a full table service dinner hosted in the dining room, a lovely well-proportioned room looking out over gardens and with an open fire in winter; it has a striking blend of classic and contemporary decor that suits the cooking style very well.

Dunbrody offers a range of menus and drinks packages, but these are suggestions only and can be tailored to suit individual requirements. Exclusive use of the whole house is a requirement when holding a wedding here; unusually, there is no venue hire fee, but all 22 rooms must be taken, and a minimum 2-night stay is required for a weekend wedding - and no midweek reduction is offered.

Spacious bedrooms offer all the comforts expected of such a house - and have fine views over the gardens. There is a spa and beauty salon at hotel - perfect for pampering the wedding party on the morning of the wedding - and also a cookery school, which could offer an unusual post-wedding activity for a group (or a voucher might be a great wedding present).

Waterford city is just across the river, and this beautiful area will reward a longer stay.
