Powerscourt House

Located in the picturesque Wicklow Mountains, just outside Enniskerry village, Powerscourt House is at the heart of an historical country estate, renowned world-wide for its spectacular formal gardens set against the backdrop of the Sugar Loaf Mountain - the gardens can be hired exclusively for photographs in this romantic setting and, weather permitting, the arrival reception may also be held here.

It makes a wonderful wedding venue - St. Mary’s Church at Enniskerry is nearby, and wedding blessings are also possible here. The house was damaged by fire in 1974 and The Garden Rooms, with their exposed brick walls, are a dramatic reminder of that tragic event, although much restoration work has since been completed.

Exclusive use of the house and gardens is available (€4,000, reducing to €3,200 midweek, +21% VAT in both cases); guests may arrive from 4pm and, if the weather is unsuitable for drinks out of doors the drinks reception may be held in the main reception rooms overlooking the gardens.

The wedding banquet is held in the Ballroom of the main house - a spectacular neo-classical room, it has three tall windows in the Georgian style looking out over the front of this magnificent house; candles are provided but it is the couple’s responsibility to decorate the venue and provide flowers for tables.

There is a wedding co-ordinator on hand to advise, give recommendations and help with bookings - including a wedding cake service. Catering at Powerscourt is provided by Masterchefs, who can tailor both menus and style to meet specific requirements, making each event unique.

There are no pampering facilities on site, but the luxurious spa Powerscourt Springs is nearby and offers beauty therapy treatments, and also a swimming pool. Powerscourt Golf Club is on the estate; other activities may be arranged locally.
