The Rectory
In a prime location overlooking Glandore harbour in West Cork, this handsome 19th century residence makes a wonderful wedding venues. There is a choice of churches locally, including a delightful Church of Ireland next door, and wedding blessings may be held on the front lawn, which is also the perfect place for a drinks reception and photographs on a fine day; if the weather is disappointing, the church may be used for family photographs and group shots.Spacious reception rooms along the front of the house have converted stylishly to make a fine restaurant, linking with the bar and reception area. Flower arrangements throughout the restaurant are supplied, but you are expected to supply table centrepieces to match your colour scheme; a list of florists is supplied along with an exceptionally comprehensive range of local services, including a choice of cake makers, as The Rectory chefs do not provide a wedding cake service - and also houses to let, clergy, horse drawn carriages, vintage cars, mini-bus hire, bands, beauticians, hairdressers, hat suppliers, handmade stationery, photographers, video services, travel agents and much more.
A lot of thought has been put into guests’ needs at this lovely place and, while they may not be able to supply every service themselves, they are certain to be able to direct you to someone who will.

Text by The Rectory:
The huge bay windows of the Rectory afford excellent views over the lawn and Glandore coastline giving the impression you are eating in the garden but within the comforts of the vibrant red, blue and green dining rooms. Even on a dull day the venue doesn’t feel gloomy as there is nothing to block or obstruct the views of the harbour. The Rectory staff believes your party should be a feast and work extremely hard at maintaining high standards of service without losing touch of the friendly West Cork charm. It is a party at the end of the day.
With up to 120 seated guests in the main house from April to October and otherwise up to 100 the various possibilities are plentiful for you and your guests. With a strong emphasis on quality food, menus are tailored to the individual needs of the host as well as their budgets.
Although recommended for informal parties such as birthday, anniversary or club events a buffet/BBQ option can be catered to from 45 to 150 guests to include the use of the marquee, all with views over the immaculate garden and Glandore harbour.
Food is a very important part of any party and the Rectory is certainly excellent value for money in this instance. Depending on the party type, menus can begin at €35 per guest for the buffet evening packages and from €49 per guest for full day 5 course sit-down wedding party option.
Given that 2009 was a busier year than previous and with 2010 set to be the same it further proves the fact that this venue is the ultimate in value for money especially in the current economic climate. Far more are cost conscious and carry out more research nowadays and see the potential savings of thousands on a venue like the Rectory.
By taking on board the overall savings of the venue and choosing an area as beautiful as Glandore you are also showing your guests you are considering their needs as well. With local accommodation rates being extremely competitive from a little as little as €20 p.p.s based on min 5 guests for 3 nights in luxury 4* Self-catering Marine Hotel Pier Lodges which is within walking distance of Rectory so no need for taxis.
Considering you’d be paying that and possible more for just one night in a country house you’ll find your guests will appreciate the extra attention to their needs too.
